The Shared Journey

Solomon is Thankful

Dear TSJ Friends,

Adjusting and Reflecting

Happy Thanksgiving! Solomon is thankful today!

Grocery stores are bustling with people and overflowing with colorful produce.  Holiday season is upon us! And it is one very busy time for most people. There is celebration in the air.

Food, family, friends and frolic are on the agenda for a few days. Every year I tell you Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  It unites us like no other holiday because it is one thing we can all celebrate in America. It is a time to connect with people we love, savor customs we cherish and smell the delicious aroma of traditional foods.

It is a time to share.  It is a time to reflect on the bounty of the earth on which we are dependent and with which we are in relationship. And a time to remember people who have shared meals with us in the past.

So in the midst of our fears and frustrations with lots of issues in our world, it is especially sweet to stop long enough to spend time with each other around a table and create memories. Time to come back to basics.

I know.  Even then . . . some tensions surface and things inevitably go awry and fatigue sets in as well as food hangovers.  That is the reality of us mortals!

So Solomon wanted to weigh in on the topic this year. . .  Playful Solomon

He said to tell you that when you feel tense, tired, or testy (due to pressures and things that try your patience) just stop and say, “Today I am so thankful I am not a turkey!

And he turned to SJ who is excited about people being around and little Lovey the lamb who just wants to be held and loved and added… “You may not understand this now, but old Sheep Solomon is VERY glad not to be a turkey today.  For now, we are safe. And “now” is all any sheep has really. That may be the wisest thing we ever learn.”

His message is clearly the  lighter side of helping us rise above frustrations and come back to thankfulness when we lose our perspective!

Enjoy! Lets play in the pastures with love in our hearts and the awareness it is love and its side effects that makes the world a good place to be.

And it is just possible “what is invisible to the eye”  is what matters most. Love can only be made visible through us in our thoughts and our talk and actions.

“The boys” and I are so thankful for memories of Mr. Tom and for TSJ fans and friends.
