Solomon Says “Enough”

Happy Wednesday to all TSJ Friends!

Solomon with his foot on Flow! (a magazine)

Today. . . or perhaps  just for this moment . . . I am enough. I have enough.  God  is more than enough. And that is true for you too!

These words have come to my mind dozens of times this week and brought a sense of peace and purpose without angst, overwhelm, guilt and self-condemnation.

Have you ever thought much about the power of one word reminders? Or at least their usefulness in pointing your internal compass to true north when confused, lost or overwhelmed?  A word, like a picture, can speak volumes.

Solomon (our inner wizard of wisdom) suggested I share this today. He has heard me use it several times this week and he thinks it is a wise word.

Enough. . . You are enough

While a whole book could bare that title, I know your time is short so I am choosing to share with you only how I have been using it this week.

I bet you have often thought to yourself . ..  I know I have eaten enough, but …exercised enough, but …talked enough, but …tried hard enough, but etc. etc. etc.  But we always seem to strive for more and more and in so doing we lose the gift of contentment.

I have been noticing Mindfulness and meditation practices are invaluable tools for resetting my own inner guidance system when it comes to finding peace instead of tension and striving.   They calm the mind and open the gates of good choice.  With awareness comes opportunity for choice and change!

Enough. . . You Have Enough

When we become mindful that in this moment we are enough, we also can notice that we have enough resources. This too calms our insatiable desires for more rather than appreciating what is at our finger tips. Just remembering we have enough resources for this moment, this problem, or this challenge helps bring contentment.

We can be content only as we live in an awakened state of gratitude and trust.  Contentment does not mean being stagnate or slothful at all.  It comes from the flow of an awakened spirit of loving kindness and awareness. It helps us realize we have just enough spiritual, physical and emotional strength to live in and sometimes to simply live through this very moment.

Enough Already! God is More than Enough

At this extremely busy time of year it helps to whisper “enough” to ourselves and remember the psalmist wrote that because we do have a Chief Shepherd who watches over us no matter what field we play or work in… we “shall not want (lack)” for anything.

Be well and enjoy your day!

Remember…. breathe slowly and say “enough” in a tone of loving kindness toward yourself and others!
