Thanksgiving Wisdom and Wishes from TSJ

Hello Peeps!

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all . . .

Solomon Glasses Blue Border
Let’s Keep it Short!

Solomon has put on the glasses to play at being wise this morning.

But he strongly suggested that since TSJ folks are  quickly finishing up lessons at school, traveling out of town, and doing a bunch of cooking and cleaning for Thanksgiving it is time to  keep it shorter and send you our  big wishes. . .

Yesterday I was looking for a book in my office.  I did not find the book but  sometimes looking for one thing helps me discover something else I might need even more!  More often than not I rediscover things I forgot I ever had.

This time I stopped to flip through some of my numerous journal notebooks where I record either things that strike me as something I want to remember or blurbs and dribbles of ideas I jot down.  This one struck me as I have struggled with a busy brain, pulls on the schedule and desires, and a weary body.

And I know the same is true for most of you at this time of year! After all, it is a busy and tiring season and sometimes we get so caught up in all the demands of life and our desire to do all things well that we lose sight of our inner peace and calm. It seems to disappear for periods of time.

Perhaps our heart is our true home. Maybe it is the seat of the Soul and our inner compass helping us find True North.

Our brain drives us as it is the control center for thoughts, plans, actions etc.. However our brains need direction or they “drive us crazy” in lots of destructive directions!

Our bodies hold us and contain us.

And for the context of today’s  blog, I will say our Soul (that deep place within where heaven and earth intersect) guides us.   According to scriptures, the Kingdom of God is within. Is that why it is so hard to find?  We tend to look everywhere else for satisfaction!  It is there we rediscover our personal “I” and renumber we are part of the ultimate I AM mentioned last week. Yes, it is there we find “good stuff” we forgot we have!

So apparently one day I  scribbled the following phrases to inspire myself when on overwhelm:

Find Your Soul . . .  Release Control

Let Love Roll

And boy do I need this reminder!  Maybe it will help you a bit too. Actually when we find our way back to our heart and soul  … the last two things happen much more easily!

Here is what happens when we come back to that place where heaven and earth intersect within us:

Peace replaces angst,

Gratitude replaces frustration,

And Irritants become pearls of great worth.

Solomon, SJ,  Tom (who remains pretty much at status quo on his upswing on this hospice journey!) and I all have big wishes for you to have . . .

A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING WEEKEND!

SJ Receiving Solomon Type Wisdom.
Happy Thanksgiving to TSJ Peeps!
