The Shared Journey

Renewal!

Happy Wednesday, TSJ Peeps! Today Solomon and SJ want want us to think about renewal as a timely and ever living process for all of us.  Just think, every day our skin renews itself by shedding old skin cells. Our bodies are constant reminders of the earth’s cycle of death or loss and resurrection or renewal. The whole digestive system is a system  of taking in, assimilating what is needed for energy and life, and releasing what is not needed.  Our breathing is the same. Breathe in. Breathe out.  The Universe has a built- in way of updating itself.  God is a

“Over and Next”

Wednesday Wisdom Greetings! Have you ever had trouble letting go of “what was” (an idea, a misstep, a security, a treasure, a love etc.) and facing what will be? I know most of us can say a resounding, “Yes!” Today’s WW is a combination of someone else’s wisdom (Norman Lear that I heard on a radio program the other day) and my own current experience. Norman, a television writer and producer,  is 94 and was asked about any wisdom he may pass on and his response was,  “two words should be used more often together – over and next”).  I will come

Just Laugh! – Seriously? That is It?

Happy Wednesday, TSJ Peeps! I try each week to be honest with you and share an everyday type story that may have a bigger lesson or tidbit of wisdom buried beneath all of my often inadequate words. And I rely on Solomon our wisdom wizard, as you faithful readers know. Solomon also represents light-heartedness for me. And today, he was firm.  His message is “Laugh. Laugh openly, laugh abundantly and see what happens.” What if there is nothing funny?  Solomon answers, “Just look for it and it will happen.” Humph. Maybe. It took awhile, but Solomon found a way to  make me

Tug- of – War

Happy Wednesday TSJ “Peeps!” Solomon wanted me to put the quotes around peeps to remind you that he knows you are not sheep, but human and real live people of big brains and deep longings.  He also wants you to know that he remembers you need a certain degree of shepherding- much like his “real sheep” pals. Today, I am simply pondering with you about what it means to be human. And Solomon is right.  It is different in most ways from being a wooly sheep. It seems to me, being human means we all long to be acknowledged for who we are, to be understood, to

From Pieces to Peace

Dear TSJ Peeps! It is Wednesday Wisdom (WW) day! Do you ever feel like you are scattered into a million pieces?  Or that your heart is broken into pieces? Do you feel like you have dropped pieces of yourself along the way and cannot seem to get them all picked up, so there are holes in your heart and your inner peace easily leaks out, leaving you anxious and depleted? Many of us often feel fragmented and and frustrated. We feel like we left our best self somewhere along the path of life, but we cannot remember where. We are too busy  to even notice

Unplugged?

Dear TSJ Peeps, Today, Solomon is feeling content and yet thoughtful on many matters.  He, and many of us, have been observing beautiful weather, people happily playing in the sun, and longer days that seem to get very busy. Many of us feel we cannot fit everything into the time allotted us. Summer is fleeting, as is time. In addition, I am also observing lots of humans looking for peace and contentment in the crevices of their lives. And this line of observation often leads me down a path of pondering about spiritual and psychological matters. I think such rumination was percolating in the recesses of

Neighbors

Hello TSJ Peeps! I hope you are enjoying your summer. I am enjoying my new home and wonderful neighbors. I am experiencing much kindness and care here. More than I can say or even return adequately. But it is what our shared journey truly is about. Neighborliness and kindness seem to be synonyms. Still, the days are flying by, leaving me wistful and nostalgic. Wistful for more time to experience life fully and accomplish my to-do list and nostalgic for times past. Truthfully, every so often, I try to slow time down by slowing me down. While Solomon constantly says this is one of my wiser moves,

Feet on the Ground and Head Held High

Hello TSJ Peeps! Happy Wednesday wherever you are.  My somewhat new team of symbolic characters are hoping you are playing in the pastures of life today.  But they are earthy characters and understand that life in the pastures can be tough as well as in the jungles. And sometimes it is a “jungle out there.” Life can be messy. As humans, I believe we are made to have our feet on the ground while we can stand with our chin up and our head held high. When we are well- grounded and heart- centered with love balancing us, we can also allow our

It’s All His Fault

Good Morning TSJ Friends! Have you ever noticed how we like to blame someone when something is “wrong” or not going the way we like?  I am sure you have heard, “It’s all his (her) fault” more than once amongst children. Sometimes adults essentially say the same when we point our finger at the boss, our spouse, neighbor or anyone we deem culpable for our unhappiness. I almost don’t need to remind you that “The Boys” (Solomon and SJ) and I have experienced loads of change together since Mr. Tom got ill and left us in charge while he was transported

Time Constraints!

Dear Peeps, It is hard to believe summer has arrived.  And with it comes new life and some excitement of things to come, such as dreams of relaxation or at least a change of scenery. It is generally a good time to remember the beauty of nature and soak up some sun or splash in some water. However, are you – like me – noticing the calendar is starting to fill up? It includes lots of good things like parties, celebrations, and get away opportunities, but  at the same time it includes home repairs, doctor visits, transporting kids to activities as well as
